The Minister Rudy DEMOTTE highly appreciated the humanitarian work that the Vietnam Friendship Village is helping the veterans and children – the victims of Agent/Orange, encouraged and shared the difficulties of leaders and staff of the Village in caring for the victims of Agent Orange. The Minister expressed that “solving the consequences of Agent Orange/Dioxin to the humans and environment in Vietnam is long and difficult. After this visit to the Friendship Village, being a former – the Health Minister of Belgium, we planned to send the rehabilitation experts to the Vietnam Friendship Village who will support the doctors and physiotherapists to help improve the health of veterans and children being cared for at the Friendship Village. We will continue to call for the international organizations to support to solve the consequences of the Agent Orange/Dioxin in Vietnam”
On the occasion of the coming Mid – Autumn Day for the children, the Minister Rudy Demotte gave gifts to children who are being taken care of and educated at the Vietnam Friendship Village. The Minister Rudy Demotte visited the special education and vocational classes, the Health Center, the dorms of the children, the house of veterans and took a pictures with leaders, staff and children at the Friendship Village.
On behalf of the Vietnam Friendship Village, Director Dinh Van Tuyen expressed the profound thanks to the Minister and all members of the delegation for the significant, practical and humanitarian visit to the Friendship Village. Director Dinh Van Tuyen proposed that in the future the Minister Rudy DEMOTTE will have the measures to support the Friendship Village on the area of health care for the veterans and children – the victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.
